October 2009
This month our club will be doing a major overhaul of the library garden.  Cleaning out the many perennials that have multiplied , removing weeds and taking out the top few inches of soil .  We plan on putting down  a layer of composted top soil to amend  and correct the organic balance of the garden.   This will enhance the plantings we will put in come the springtime.

Our goal is to use native plants in the garden .  This will help the local butterfly, insect and bird population to live and thrive in our area.
It is our intention to use plants that do not require a great deal of maintenance .  Look for the new library garden to emerge in the spring.
