Our trip began with a lovely ride up to Bantam Ct to the studio and home of Guy Wolff. We toured his lovely gardens, met his wife and daughter, and some of us were even lucky enough to be permitted inside his home.
Guy's studio was filled with hundreds of his pots. Using the wheel, he "threw one " to be fired later in one of the massive kilns. It was a fascinating start to the trip with the cash register in his studio working overtime.
The next leg of our journey brought us to Wethersfield Estate Garden in Armenia New York. Perfectly manicured grounds, with lovely specimen trees and even a few resident peacocks were part of the guided tour. The view of the surrounding area was majestic, and the weather was perfect for our adventure.
After having a gourmet lunch in a private restaurant in Millbrook, NY some of our group meandered through the quaint village and looked at the antique shops. Delightful little town!!
Our next and final segment of the day was in Innisfree Gardens in Millbrook. Self guided tours of the magnificent Eastern inspired design gardens were all too brief.
Enjoy the slideshow which will give a sampling of the days events. Our trips chairwoman outdid herself again !! The ride home was a delight, as wine, cheese , crackers, water and lots of laughs dominated the finish to our well planned day.
Can't wait for next years trip.
